Annual HCCS Auction Planned

HUMBOLDT COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL’S ANNUAL BENEFIT AUCTION will take place on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., at Faith Christian Reformed Church, 1070 Prospect, in Elmhurst. Would you consider donating an auction item for this important event?

All donations will be acknowledged in our auction booklet, and some special items will be selected for the live auction at the end of the evening. The auction is held in Elmhurst because several churches in the western suburbs are in partnership with HCCS, and most of the people attending are from the western suburbs. All attendees are potential customers of your business. In addition to supporting HCCS, your gift exposes your products and services to our audience.

YOUR GIFT OF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED:

  • a product or gift certificate from your business or store
  • tickets to events (sports, plays, movies)
  • a service (concert, lawn care, cooking, cleaning, car wash)
  • handmade items (quilt/afghan, painting, pottery, woodcrafts)
  • any new, unique item (sports equipment, household items, electronics)
  • monetary donation

We also welcome your presence at this fun-filled evening. Besides the silent and live auctions, we offer refreshments and the opportunity to meet and hear from a few of the students and staff.

Take this opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child! HCCS has provided quality Christian education for children in Humboldt Park and neighboring communities since 1980. Over 70% of the children at HCCS are eligible for the federal Free and Reduced Lunch program. Families enrolled are looking for a Christian alternative to the often abusive and over-crowded public schools in the area. HCCS relies on outside gifts and funding to help keep tuition affordable and support these students, and we hope to raise $25,000 from the 2009 Auction.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New testaments, to be the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in a triune Godhead of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He taught with authority as to how men should live. He died on the cross as sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures, arose bodily from the dead, and ascended unto God the Father, where He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
